As we sit in Tampa with the threat of yet another storm we are all out preparing for the worst. While some of us are out protecting our property and family what about the ones who are all working to protect us?
I take a lot of pride of my husband’s job and yet as I watch the news while we are trying to contact business to add to this site and our app it gets frustrating.
It’s interesting to me that as the news of this storm intensifies my husband is on duty. Yes that is his chosen profession but I just wonder if anyone ever thinks about the families of first responders?
Right now I am working with 5 separate Heroes of Tampa bay and all are on call and alert for this storm yet they all have families and pets that they have to work out. My husband is on duty today, so if something hits or turns he doesn’t have the ability to come home and help us prepare for the storm or evacuate. Will this storm be dangerous? Probably not…but I just cant help but wonder how the rest of the world feels. I am sure all of the business owners take comfort in knowing that they are out there protecting their property due to weather or theft and we all want them to be there to pull us out of danger…why wouldn’t they all want to give them a hand and a break of some sort for all they do for us?
Myself…I give up 25% of my commission on every sale to our Heroes of Tampa and spend my spare time putting this foundation together with Heroes Housing Assistance so that if there is a catastrophe we will be there to assist them with their mortgage payments if needed!
Please think about that while you’re sitting safe inside that they are out there doing their jobs, and putting our safety above their own families.
