With Valentine’s Day around the corner we wanted to take this time to show our appreciation to our Hometown Heroes. This month we are doing a campaign called “WE LOVE OUR HEROES”
We reached out to our local business to assist us and were very grateful to them for stepping up and supplying us with candy, water and other goodies.
With the assistance of local high-school students we packaged 350 goodie bags to distribute to fire stations, police officers, schools and day cares as a way to say how grateful we are.
For me personally we saved the schools for last and it occurred to us that the office staff normally does not get candy for Valentines from the students so we decided to drop of bags to the front offices. When we arrived at one of the local high schools they were on lock down for the third time this week and it really hit home. We added teachers to our program because of how much hard work and the long hours they put in, but the truth is not only do they put in countless unpaid hours to educate our children but in many instances when there has been crisis in schools its the teachers who have put their lives on the line to protect our children…our most prize possessions. For that we are so very grateful.
Don’t get me wrong, delivering to the fire stations was easy and we did our best and will continue throughout the month of february to keep delivering for our month long campaign.
