2018 RUN, WALK & CLIMB SERIES!
Tunnel to Towers Tampa Tower Climb
May 19, 2018
Tunnel to Towers is a foundation to honor the sacrifice of firefighter Stephen Siller who laid down his life to save others on September 11, 2001. This foundation also honors all military and first responders who put their lives on the line daily to keep our country safe.
Did you know 343 Firefighters sacrificed their lives on 9/11? In honor of those fallen firefighters each participant of the Tunnel to Towers will receive a badge with a photo and the name of one of the 343 firefighters who lost their life that day. The goal is to carry all 343 firefighters up 41 flights, 861 steps, of the Tampa City Center in their Honor.
On May 6th, 2017 the first ever Tampa Tower Climb was held at One Tampa City Center. All proceeds benefit the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation. Which is a 9/11 organization that builds specially adapted, custom smart homes for multiple amputee veterans.
The 2nd annual Tunnel to Towers Tower Climb in Tampa, celebrating Armed Forces Day, will be held on May 19th, 2018. The event is from 8am – 11am at One Tampa City Center on Franklin Street. There will be a ton of local restaurants there donating food and beverages. It will be a morning full of honoring the memory of Stephen Siller, all local first responders, all military, all veterans, and a surprise local hero!
